The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was announced on May 15. Under this strategic agreement, ASML will provide its full lithography equipment portfolio and technical support for the $11 billion facility, which will produce chips for automotive, mobile, and AI applications.

The MoU was signed by Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and Christophe Fouquet, President & CEO of ASML. The signing in The Hague was witnessed by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, and Rob Jetten, Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

Designed for a monthly capacity of 50,000 wafers, the Dholera fab will manufacture high-performance logic chips, RF-enabled SoCs for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, IoT devices, power-management ICs, display drivers, and non-volatile memory chips.

“ASML’s deep expertise in holistic lithography solutions will ensure the timely ramp of our fab in Dholera and build a resilient, trusted supply chain for our global customers,” said Randhir Thakur.
